|Thank you for donating to our local food banks, and supporting BuyFarmFood.com by purchasing food for your own family!|
BuyFarmFood.com has now been in existence for 8 months. You have donated about 75 thousand pounds of food, and BuyFarmFood.com has donated another 15 thousand pounds. 90 thousand pounds of food is about 360,000 servings of food!!! Together we have had a huge impact on the health and well being of thousands of local families that need help. I had been renting a truck to haul the food, but I’ve decided to commit to what we are doing, and have bought a truck and trailer to do the hauling.
A couple weeks ago, I took a video of the boxes on Monday and posted it on Facebook. Everyone loved it as it gave them an ides of what they would be getting. This last week however, it didn’t work as well as planned because by Wednesday, the box content had changed a fair amount. There were only a few of the pineapples left I was getting, and so just the “Fruit Only Boxes” had them, and I also had to change some other items.
I’m very sorry about that, but that’s just the way it happens. I don’t buy food for the week, and store it, I go every day and get the freshest food possible. On the website I have written an answer in the FAQs about the contents changing and here is a link to it if you want to know more about why the content changes. Just click here, and scroll down to question 10.
I will continue to post on Monday, but please understand if other days are not exactly the same.
Also, when we cancelled the pickup for Wednesday due to the storm, the new refrigerated trailer didn’t work right (I’m still getting the bugs out), and the food was stuck in the non refrigerated trailer all day, night, and the next day, so the bananas and a couple other items were not happy about it. Sorry about that. It seems things are always an adventure, and I have way more to do than I can get done. So I do my best. 🙂
Thank you for continuing to buy food for yourself and your family, and for supporting our local food banks by donating. The holiday season is here and if you can possibly swing it, please donate some wonderful fresh food with us because the food banks don’t get much of the fresh food we’re giving.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and see you at pickup!
